Whetu Marewa (Rising Star) The Whetu Marewa (Rising Star) services aims to build the confidence, resilience & wellbeing of taiohi (young people) with mental health and addiction related issues by enabling access to a range of supported interventions. Whetu Marewa provides mobile support in a community out-reach approach by offering a Registered Health Professional-led school and community-located clinics. As part of our wh?nau your practice of whanaungatanga and man?kitanga will bring mana to the tamaiti. Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity As Team Coach you’ll align with our tikanga (principles) and kawa (practice) and lead the Whetu Marewa – Primary Mental Health service. As our Team Coach, you will be part of the local leadership abilities team, attend regular meetings and Team Coach trainings. This is a full-time, permanent function, working Monday- Friday, 8.30am- 5.00pm, in Hamilton East. You’ll also be part of the rostered after-hours service on a rotating basis. You | M?u This is a clinical function, so you’ll have a current NZ registration as nurse (able to work in mental health), occupational therapist, social worker or psychologist, with previous practice of proven work with taiohi and their wh?nau. » a current full NZ driver’s licence » an knowledge of local community issues and of tikanga M?ori » capability to develop and maintain internal and external key relationships » uphold the integrity and mana of both the taiohi and kaupapa » the capability to work independently and innovatively to engage young people/taiohi and wh?nau. » an inspiring and enthusiastic outlook on life.
