As the Regional Talent & leadership abilities Lead your function will be to provide support in building the continuing capcapability of people leaders within Ara Poutama Aotearoa at all levels of the organisation.
Your function will be to plan and implement the delivery of core leadership abilities development programmes within the region in conformity with our leadership abilities development framework and in line with each individual leader’s plan or needs. The intention is to encourage and inspire leaders to become self-directed as well as motivated learners. You will also work to deliver continuing practice support, action learning and coaching support where required. Accountcapability is to ensure access to available opportunities for development aligned with the regions business requirements, people plan and H?kai Rangi. Information technology is not a design or facilitation function, although there may be some aspects of this involved, Information technology is more of a strategic connector and enabler for leadership abilities capcapability uplift within the Central region.
As the Regional Talent and leadership abilities Lead you will work closely with the People Services Manager to manage processes relating to the identification, development and mobility of talent all over Ara Poutama Aotearoa.

Recognised as an expert and champion of talent management and development frameworks, within the Region, you will work proactively with the business and it’s Leaders on programmes of work for the Central Region. To do this effectively you will be able to demonstrate the following:
   » practice in the design and delivery of leadership abilities development programmes and interventions
   » Proven success in coaching and supporting the development of emerging and new leaders through to senior leaders
   » practice and knowledge of talent mapping methodologies
   » broad knowledge of and practice in identifying adult learning needs and options for development
   » Advanced interpersonal expertise with the capability to build trust, rapport, empathy and knowledge with people leaders
   » practice in and use of feedback, culture and team development tools as well as leadership abilities development diagnostics
   » Pragmatic in providing support to managers on ways in which they can experiment and lgain in the flow of work
   » Able to bring a te Ao M?ori worldview
   » An knowledge (or an openness to developing an knowledge) of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to the work of government departments
   » Strong level of cultural capcapability and consciousness, able to work effectively with diverse groups of people

Covid 19 Vaccination Requirements
All people working inside prisons are required to be fully vaccinated as part of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021.Ara Poutama is currently consulting with Community Corrections on a proposed policy would require all staff working in Community Corrections to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as well. If approved, this requirement will commence on 28 April 2022.
