We're looking for an intermediate to senior infrastructure and devops engineer who loves automation, IAC, efficiency, and public Cloud implementations as much as we do. As a member of the technology team, you'll use your automation and security skills to build durable, sustainable, and secure infrastructures for our clients and internal networks. You'll stay informed with emerging and current security issues and proactively suggest or implement effective countermeasures. Working alongside our developers, you'll build automated processes to help deploy and test our applications. Ideally you'll have a background in development and practice working with a variety of platforms and technologies. Being skilled in Terraform / Terragrunt, AWS, AZURE, Kubernetes would be beneficial, but not a requirement for the function. In this function you’ll:» architect projects, tools, and both sysadmin and devops workflows internally and for our clients» estimate tasks, features, and projects to help us plan projects effectively » ensure all work meets our high standards and follows established best-practice processes by developing, maintaining, and documenting our frameworks, tools, and code libraries » work closely with other disciplines to efficiently deliver client projects that meet the required results » stay up-to-date with developing technologies and methodologies, attending significant training workshops, seminars, and online learning where appropriate » build and maintain sustainable, secure, and resilient solutions by advising on infrastructure choices and how they could impact a solution » build appropriate observcapability and monitoring into our solutions » help to train others, provide significant and valuable input, and review the work of your peers and juniors » help clients and other Springloaders understand the issues around projects and enable them to communicate these clearly » ensure Springload remains in compliance with contractual commitments regarding security and infrastructure » engineer relicapability into everything that we build and help diagnose and resolve performance, security, and other issues » drive efficiency by working with the development team to automate as much of their work as possible » ensure we have efficient, well-tuned CI and CD systems. About youWe're on the hunt for an intermediate to senior infrastructure and devops engineer who is passionate about using automation and IAC to deal with problems and help others. If this sounds like you but you don't meet all the requirements listed below, please apply and tell us why your practice is significant to the function.For this function you’ll have:» clear communication skills, especially when explaining technical concepts to less technical people» a solid knowledge of sysadmin and devops design patterns, principles, and capability to apply them » a solid knowledge and application of security and data privacy principles » a highly evolved approach to systems automation » excellent shell scripting and command line skills » production-level practice of at least one IAC or infrastructure automation framework (e.g. Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform) » a high level of proficiency or certification in at least one global-scale public cloud (e.g. GCP, AWS) » a good knowledge of HTTP protocol » a good knowledge of TLS in terms of deployment characteristics » a very good knowledge of networking fundamentals » an excellent knowledge of the operational attributes and functions of popular, current technology solutions, ideally in the context of public cloud operations. For example: RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL), Queueing (AWS SQS, AMQP), and caching (REDIS, Memcache) » practice of at least one common scripting language; ie Python, Ruby, or Javascript » sound knowledge of modern SDLC and development practices.
