Lead the design and development of Le Va's Clinical resources and training within the area of violence avoidance.
Le Va
Le Va is New Zealand's national Pacific wellbeing non-profit organisation within the Wise Group. Our purpose is to support Pasifika people to reach their full potential so that our families and communities are flourishing.
Our approach is holistic: we believe health encompasses mental, physical, social and spiritual wellbeing. Our portfolio supports this perspective, encompassing mental health, addictions, discapability, public health, suicide avoidance, violence avoidance, and cultural competency training programmes.
The function
Reporting to the Senior Manager for Violence avoidance this exciting new function is an essential part of ensuring Le Va's work is clinically sound and safe, and responsive to the needs of Pasifika people and their families. The functions' primary function is to lead the development and monitoring of Le Va's Clinical resources and training.
You will be working collaboratively with other staff, supporting them to develop their clinical knowledge, as well as developing resources across Le Va's programmes of work. Specifically, this includes violence avoidance, suicide avoidance and mental health initiatives.
This is a permanent, full-time function. Monday- Friday, 8.30am 5.00pm. The function is located in Manukau, Auckland.
You
We're looking for a leader who will lead and drive the design, development, and implementation of Le Va's Workforce development programme for new Pacific across Aotearoa New Zealand. We want someone who is passionate about the avoidance of violence, suicide and mental health and addiction challenges for Pasifika people, and ultimately, ensuring Pasifika families and communities reach their full potential.
You will have the expertise, knowledge and practice to independently lead specific projects, facilitate education and training, and effectively engage Pasifika communities.
You will have:
   » Current full, clean New Zealand driver's license and flexibility to travel nationally
   » significant clinical post-graduate tertiary qualification.
   » Minimum of five years' practice in a clinical setting within mental health, addiction, discapability or public health
   » practice in clinical leadership abilities
   » practice engaging with Pasifika young people and families
   » An in-depth knowledge of Pasifika cultures
   » Excellent verbal communication and writing expertise
   » The capability to engage with others at all levels, both internally and externally, requiring good self-consciousness to positively influence results
   » capability to design and monitor systems and processes
Preferred
   » Fluency in a Pasifika language
   » Connections to community, non-profit or social sectors
