we At Present have a great opportunity for aPacific Advisorto join our team on a permanent basis.
Who we are
Wh?raurau provides national training and workforce development within the infant, child and youth mental health and addiction sector. Through UniServices, we are contracted by the Ministries of Health and Education to grow the capacity and capcapability of the infant, child and youth mental health and addictions workforce. We offer a range of E?Learning courses, in person and virtual training workshops, and webinars that are government-funded and free to access.
Key responsibilities
this function will be key in ensuring that the particular needs of Pacific workers and Pacific children, adolescents and families experiencing mental health difficulties are acexpertised and taken into account in all workforce development initiatives undertaken by Wh?raurau. Specifically, this function will promote the mental health interests of Pacific wh?nau with lived practice of mental health challenges and mental health workers, and provide advice and recommendations regarding these families and workers to the Wh?raurau senior leadership abilities team.
   » To ensure that the needs of Pacific Mental Health/ ICAMH and AoD workers and Pacific tamariki, taiohi and wh?nau experiencing mental health difficulties are acexpertised and supported in all workforce development initiatives undertaken by Wh?raurau.
   » Promoting the mental health interests of Pacific wh?nau with lived practice of mental health challenges and workers to enhance results for these groups.
   » To support the Pacific Clinical Cultural Advisor and Poutohu Matua M?ori | Senior M?ori Advisor with key projects and recommendations on the needs of Pacific wh?nau and workers to enhance results for these groups.
   » Identify opportunities for participation in activities and projects that relate to Pacific child and youth mental health.
   » To strengthen relationships and communication between key Pacific stakeholders and Wh?raurau, ensuring a culturally appropriate point of contact for members of the various pacific communities.
   » To ensure that Wh?raurau staff are culturally supported in the work that they carry out.
Your expertise and practice
We are seeking for individuals with a tertiary qualification in a significant field (ideally within mental health) and practice and expertise of child and adolescent mental health. Additionally, We are pursuing individuals with:
   » Fluency in a Pacific language preferable, and demonstrated expertise of Pacific culture and traditions
   » practice in sector needs and issues within the workforce development context
   » Previous practice in workforce development projects
   » Demonstrated relationship, networking and engagement expertise particularly within the Pacific networks and cross-culturally
   » Excellent interpersonal and communication expertise
