Auckland Art Gallery Toi o T?maki is a cultural leader in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our purpose is to be a creative catalyst for art and ideas, offering transformational practices that strengthen and enrich our communities.
The Gallery’s vision is to be the home of art for Auckland, its people and visitors to its internationally recognised award-winning building. Established in 1888, the Gallery holds a preeminent collection of New Zealand art and a significant collection of international art, and presents a dynamic programme of temporary exhibitions, public engagement and outreach activities.
The Head KaupapaM?ori is a senior function in the Gallery's leadership abilities team and will work with the Director, Deputy Director and leadership abilities Team to develop and implement a bi-cultural framework, leading key initiatives. The function will ensure thatM?oriidentity and talent is celebrated, showcased, and that all staff are supported to thrive within the context of the gallery's broader vision and purpose.
He k?rero m?u: About you
You will need to have broadpractice in a senior position in a large, organisation leading a team in a complex stakeholder environment, demonstrated people leader practice including leading through and managing change, practice in strategic relationship management and excellent relationships with M?ori in T?maki Makaurau.
Having an knowledge of te reo me ng? Tikanga me ng? matauranga M?ori as well as being proficient in written and spoken Te Reo M?ori is highly desirable, as is an knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi within both a historical and contemporary setting.

The function is a permanent, full-time function working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday with flexibility and working in the house dayoptions available.
