The Schools Te Koronga, a world leading kaupapa M?ori research and teaching excellence group that focuses on mauri ora (flourishing wellness). Te Koronga is comprised of two parts: Graduate Research Excellence and Indigenous Science Research Theme. The kaupapa of Te Koronga is described on the Te Koronga website: https://www.otago.ac.nz/te-koronga/index.html The function We are pursuing to appoint a Lecturer in M?ori Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Sciences. In this function you will be responsible for a leadership abilities function in Te Koronga within the School which includes: » Te Hononga T?ngaengae: To realise the potential of existing relationships with M?ori communities and to strengthen relationships and collaborations. » Totara Haemata: To build a national and international profile of excellence as leaders. » Mauri Tipu, Mauri Ora: To grow M?ori capcapability and excellence in teaching and research through teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students; developing teaching materials; monitoring and assessing student performance; supervising research students; and mentoring research staff. » Te Kupenga: To create a network of researchers and communities invested in research that encompasses M?ori values. » Te Pae T?whiti: To create new opportunities and undertake research defined by communities including contributing to the research activities of the School and Te Koronga, through publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. » Te K?kano: To secure funding for community-led projects as well as attract external research salary. Your expertise and practice: » Hold a doctoral degree or a doctoral degree under examination. » Ideally have practice teaching and researching in the field of M?ori Physical Education, and/or M?ori health and wellbeing at a tertiary institution, as well as applying te ao M?ori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Kaupapa M?ori. » Te Reo M?ori and an knowledge of tikanga M?ori is desirable. » Proven abilities to teach into other areas of physical education, sport and exercise sciences would be advantageous.
