About this function
this function will give you the opportunity to directly work with schools/kura, senior leaders and communities. The function will have a particular focus on schools with high M?ori rolls including Kura Kaupapa M?ori, Kura ? Iwi and dual medium settings and engaging wh?nau, h?pu and iwi in the education of their tamariki.
You will be working as part of the Ministry’s regional team, using evidence and data on student achievement to work with schools and Kura to strengthen educational performance.
About you
We are seeking for a person who has the following:
   » An knowledge of Te reo M?ori me ona tikanga with a level of fluency that enables you to communicate effectively when required at a level acceptable to the audience
   » An knowledge of factors influencing achievement and participation for M?ori students with currency in curriculum delivery, Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, and practice in M?ori medium
   » prosperous practice of working with M?ori students and communities
   » Strong analytical expertise and the capability to work with student achievement data to determine needs and priorities
   » An capability to develop strong working relationships both within and outside the Ministry to support and implement change initiatives
   » An knowledge of Ka Hikitia, and Tau Mai Te Reo, and how these documents impact on the work
   » Strong oral and written communication expertise
