Te Whare W?nanga o Waikato The University of Waikato Tauranga campus is in the heart of the Tauranga CBD within the sunny Bay of Plenty. Our university stands proudly on the world stage as a provider of future-focused, international education and an active player in global research.
Due to open in 2022, the Selwyn Street Studios is purpose built for the University of Waikato, located across the road from the CBD campus. Information technology consists of 93 fully-furnished studio rooms spread across three floors. Each floor has shared spaces that provide stunning views across the harbour.
This facility will not only provide accommodation to students all over the university year, but Information technology will also be used to host conference groups over the summer months.

We have a great new function located in a brand new facility for an individual who is energetic, innovative and self-motivated with the capability to lead a dedicated team of residential adjuncts, housekeeper and administrative staff in the delivery of a vibrant and cohesive halls practice.
This is varied function with a new cohort of students arriving at the beginning of each year, a majority of whom will be leaving home for the first time. Your function is to ensure they practice student life in a safe environment and build friendships to last a lifetime.
You will be responsible for creating and managing a supportive student residential community that upholds a high level of pastoral care provision, maintains a safe and secure living environment, and provide support and advice that encourages academic success and the development of life expertise.
This is a live in position and the prosperous applicant will be required to live-in the Residential Life Manager’s (one bedroom) unit on Selwyn Street. As a live-in position, Information technology will involve some evening and weekend work.

To be prosperous in this new and exciting position you will have the following:
   » A significant tertiary qualification or demonstrated work practice to an equivalent level
   » practice working in a welfare or support function
   » capability to mediate and manage challenging situations with students
   » practice in organising events and group activities
   » practice working with different ethnic groups and with young people
   » An knowledge of the needs of university students (including international students) living away in the house for the first time
As this is a new team and a new facility, Information technology is important that you have the capability to build a great culture for the team but also ensure the students have an amazing yet safe practice living in the Selwyn Street accommodation.
