About the function
The focus of this exciting new permanent full-time function is to support the wellbeing and resilience of the District’s diverse communities by connecting them with Council and appropriate stakeholder groups to deliver quality results. You will, as part of the growing community and engagement team, be advising our organisation on how to engage and communicate with our various communities, obtaining views and preferences on Council’s work programme and feeding into plans, policies and strategies. You will also coordinate the Council events process and guidelines to support event organisers to run prosperous events in the community.
this function will be located in Dargaville, however, Kaipara District Council has embraced flexible work arrangements and if desired, the prosperous candidate will have the capability to work remotely some of the time.
To be prosperous in this function you will need:
   » A degree in a significant field such as Social Policy or Social Science
   » Strong practice in community engagement, facilitation and stakeholder management
   » Ideally, you will have expertise of tikanga M?ori and practice in engaging with iwi
   » A friendly manner and exceptional communication and listening expertise with people from diverse backgrounds
   » capability to develop strong and respectful relationships with iwi and communities
   » A current valid NZ driver’s licence
   » A can-do, positive attitude!
