About the function:

Human Rights Advisors take a Tiriti-located human rights approach to delivering policy analysis and advice, strategic advocacy, and project support for the promotion of human rights in Aotearoa New Zealand. We seek an practiced policy advisor, who can contribute their skills to a fast-paced team.
As a Human Rights Advisor (Pasifika) you will help connect the Commission with Pacific communities and provide policy advice and support for human rights projects and issues of interest to Pacific communities.
this function is for approximately six months to cover a period of parental leave.
The prosperous candidate will be able to demonstrate:
   » knowledge the relevance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to the function, and what Information technology means to be part of a Tiriti located organisation
   » Excellent policy analysis, research and writing skills
   » Familiarity with legislative and government policy processes
   » practice in project methodology
   » skills in working with human rights frameworks would be desirable
   » The capability to engage with a broad range of community members, businesses, unions, government agencies, and civil society organisations
   » Pacific language/s would be an asset
income band:
Advisor: $79,207- $107,223 per annum.
Senior Advisor: $92,700 - $125,454 per annum.
