About our group and team
The Resourcing group is responsible for delivering operational funding and staffing entitlements to nearly 2,500 schools. We administer annual payments of approximately $5.8 billion.
We provide high quality financial advice and support to schools and school boards. We ensure schools and early learning services receive correct resourcing entitlements through our monitoring programme. We provide operational policy advice and guidance and produce one-off solutions to resourcing issues. Our contact centre provides direct telephone and email support to schools’, early learning services and the general public.
In addition, Resourcing is involved in the implementation of significant organisation-wide projects including the following:
   » ERS – a new funding system that will modernise payments for schools, and
   » the new equity index, which will replace the existing decile system
About this function
The Operational Policy Advisor will provide advice and support to ensure policy implementation is effective.
This will include designing implementation solutions for new policy or the review of existing policy, producing one-off solutions to school resourcing issues and advising and guiding others on implementation.
About you
The Operational Policy Advisor will provide advice and guidance regarding resourcing matters.
You will provide guidance, support, and improvements to ensure key pieces of work are delivered to a high standard.
You will have the following expertise, attributes, and practice:
   » practice in designing implementation solutions and providing operational policy advice
   » Excellent communication and written expertise
   » practice working in a Government agency and a sound knowledge of the machinery of government, public sector delivery structures and systems
