Te mahi – The function
This is an exciting senior leadership abilities position responsible for the governance, development, and implementation of high-quality student services.
Under your leadership abilities, this Division will provide learning, and manaakitaka to meet the needs of our diverse and vibrant student body here at the University of Otago.

Ideally you will have prior leadership abilities practice and previous exposure to the tertiary education sector.
this function is responsible for many of the services that our students engage with all over their tertiary journey at Otago so Information technology will be important that you are comfortable leading diverse and multi-functional teams.
You will bring with you an capability to build and sustain positive relationships with Te Huka M?tauraka and the Pacific Islands Centre, two significant areas that support our M?ori and Pacific students on their academic and cultural journeys. A deep expertise and demonstrated success working with these important cohorts will also be required.
You will be the type of person that strives to make a significant contribution to the University community and someone who enjoys creating and executing clear strategy in line with the University’s strategic objectives, as well as the M?ori and Pacific Strategic Frameworks.
M? te t?ma – About our Team
The Student Services Divisional Office is responsible for a wide portfolio of services including Te Huka M?tauraka (M?ori Centre), Pacific Island Centre, theCareer Development Centre, Discapability Information and Support, Te WhareT?wharau (Sexual Violence Support and avoidance Centre), Proctor’s Office, Student Health and Recreation Services.
As Director you will be responsible for ten direct reports with an approximate 70 indirect reports all over the different services across the University.
The Division collaborates to deliver effective services and governance across all Student Services activities and more broadly across the University as a key participant in critical planning and decision-making processes.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent position.
