About the function
Embracing a M?ori worldview, our People & Culture Coordinator - Kaupapa M?ori provides hands on support in nurturing te ao M?ori into the MOTAT Team. Working closely alongside our Advisor, this function is positioned to be a key touchpoint between our people and te ao M?ori. If you thrive in an environment where you are trusted to push forward on initiatives, blow the scope on Kaupapa M?ori within our unique Museum setting, and help build a framework that supports Kaimahi M?ori bring their cultural world view to their work at MOTAT, then we would love to hear from you!
This is a 32 hours per week function (hours negotiable) , with the benefit of flexible working hours and the capability to work a portion of hours in the house each week.
About you
Are you a People & Culture Coordinator who brings a M?ori worldview to your mahi? Maybe you have worked in a Kaupapa M?ori organisation or function in the past and want to try your hand at HR and supporting the business and its people? With a natural capability to walk in two worlds, you will be a key player in the team who will drive and deliver Te Puna Wh?ngai M?ori, MOTAT's Kaupapa M?ori Framework.
Ultimately, you are you, and we appreciate that everyone brings different strengths to the team. We want you to bring your unique flair to your work, acknowledging that we all come from different backgrounds, previous work contexts, and areas of skills. We want you to tell us about your practice working within Kaupapa M?ori, building solid and longstanding relationships with M?ori communities to co-develop people programmes. Share your broad knowledge and knowledge of te ao and tikanga M?ori, as well as your capability to take an inclusive and collaborative approach to your work. Ideally you will have an intermediate level fluency of te reo M?ori, practice developing Kaupapa M?ori training programmes and/or materials, and the capability to develop and conduct training for employees at all levels. Knowledge of human resources management practices and practice in the culture change space would be a huge advantage.
