An exciting opportunity in a dynamic Crown entity awaits the right candidate for a fixed-term appointment for two years in the advance care planning (ACP) team at the Health Quality and Safety Commission.
The senior programme manager advance care planning leads the advance care planning and clinical communication training programme. Advance care planning is the process of thinking about, talking about and planning for future health care and end-of-life care.
The position has a strong strategic component; as well as having an overview of the implementation of thenational strategy and road map of actions 2022-2028, there is a requirement to plan and advocate for the future of the programme and be agile to respond to emerging health system needs in this important area.
There is also a strong thought leadership abilities component to this function and the prosperous candidate will be a ‘go-to’ person in the field of advance care planning. They will be a trusted source of information – able to motivate and inspire people with innovative ideas.
You will have an knowledge of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and how the four articles relate to advance care planning. A knowledge of te reo me ona tikanga would be highly regarded.
The ACP programme team is a dynamic, largely virtual team working across the country. As such there will be some travel required. The function has wider input into the Commissions activities as part of the extended senior leadership abilities team.
