Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, HealthShare provides contract audit and assurance services to five regions within Te Manawa Taki (Midland region) (Hauora a Toi – BOP, Lakes, Tair?whiti, Taranaki, and Waikato). We are also a designated audit agency (DAA) providing certification audits to Manat? Hauora – MOH in the mental health, alcohol and other drug, intellectual and physical discapability, and aged care sectors. Our values are:

Te ?hua o Te T?ranga – The nature of the position
The newly created position of Kaihaut?, has been established in order to provide cultural capcapability, competency, and leadership abilities within Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, HealthShare Audit and Assurance while delivering quality third party audit services within the Te Manawa Taki region. You will lead a r?p? of kaiarotake (auditors) in kaupapa M?ori provider audits whilst adhering to tikanga M?ori. Leading evaluations of non-M?ori provider organisations, you will utilise your practice to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders through advocacy, negotiation, and collaboration.
Reporting to the Director, Audit and Assurance, you will support the completion of an annual audit work programme, leading both routine and unplanned audit against agreed objectives, scope, and deliverables in line with Audit and Assurance policy and methodology.
Leading the engagement with kaupapa M?ori and Pacific Community Health providers, NGOs, and other Health NZ stakeholders, you will facilitate the planning, preparation, documentation, and resources required for an audit. Taking the lead function when analysing problems, and identifying core issues, you will conduct investigations and evaluate risks.
Your past practice will see you confidently making recommendations for improvements in service management and service quality or to enhance service provider performance and compliance with national guidelines, service standards and recognised good practice. Producing detailed quality audit reports for peer review and senior auditor sign off prepare, you will be presenting status reports to the Director Audit and Assurance and stakeholders as required.

Knowledge and practice working in the Health Sector, (preferably Hauora M?ori) and a tertiary qualification, (preferably clinical), is highly desirable.

   » Proficiency in te reo M?ori me ?na tikanga and m?tauranga M?ori.
   » Competent and confident leader and p?k?rero, knowledgeable of tikanga M?ori and kawa.
   » Expert knowledge of quality management systems and capcapability in report writing expertise.
   » A strong knowledge of audit and compliance.
   » The proven capability to partner with stakeholders to advise, influence and make change.
   » Have high levels of self-motivation, be self-confident and self-directing , with the capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
   » Microsoft Office applications savvy.
   » Display innovation , enthusiasm, and passion – able to think outside of the box, eager to find new ways to innovate and deliver.
   » An knowledge of Tiriti o Waitangi, Whakamaua and the M?ori Health Equity Framework.
Relating well with a broad range of people you'll be a critical thinker, systematic and able to write reports clearly and accurately. The capability to work in a team and under tight timeframes is critical. Confidentiality is key to this function and maintaining composure and professionalism.
located in Tauranga Moana, there will be regular travel across Te Manawa Taki region and out of region travel. Remuneration is positioned to attract candidates with a demonstrated skill base, and a high-level cultural competency.
