About the function
You will be teaching studio practice at undergraduate level in our Bachelor of Contemporary Art, in specialist photographic core and elective papers.
The function will also include teaching in critical and professional practice papers across our suite of creative degrees. As a senior academic you will contribute significantly to our ?konga's learning practice, the development of our academic programmes and to the research environment in the School of Media Arts at Wintec Te P?kenga. You will also have the opportunity to engage in postgraduate supervision within our postgraduate programmes.
this function joins a team of kaiako working to ensure our graduating students have an individuated professional art practice and are culturally responsive practitioners who can operate prosperously across the Aotearoa art scene and beyond.
To flourish in this function, you'll be a teacher and photographic practitioner who enjoys working collaboratively with others, with demonstrated expertise in your field of skills, programme development and teaching at tertiary level.
We are seeking for a strong team player and positive influencer, who can support and enable the School of Media Arts academic teams, in a dynamic vocationally oriented tertiary environment.
This is a full-time permanent position that includes a research allocation (depending on practice) and will start in January 2023.

   » have substantial expertise in the pedagogies of contemporary art and photographic practice specifically,
   » be able to adapt this expertise into new teaching situations
   » have a proven passion for teaching in a studio practice environment and demonstrated tertiary teaching practice
   » understand how Te Tiriti o Waitangi is significant and applied significantly to both the tertiary educational environment and to contemporary art practice in Aotearoa
   » have the capability to develop encouraging, safe, and inclusive learning environments
   » have a readiness to undertake postgraduate supervision
   » have the capacity for productive, high-quality creative arts research
   » at minimum have, (or be working towards) a significant Masters degree
