Open 7 days from 9am to 4.30pm. We also cater for functions on request. We’re looking for an practiceD CAFE CHEF to take on our Head Chef function with a minimum of 2 years practice in a similar managerial function. The person We are seeking for will: · be organized, very clean, tidy and be able to work alone when necessary and to run a kitchen and up to 3 other kitchen staff during busy times · be capable of working in a timely manner, especially when under pressure, while maintaining excellent food quality and high standards of food presentation · be expertiseable regarding food safety and be able to maintain a Food Control Plan · document recipes, create interesting seasonal menus, maintain costings and minimize wastage · competently manage stock, ordering and costs · be passionate about the food you cook and be aware of and include new trends and ideas · be able to cater for special functions, including buffets and a la carte · have an interest and practice creating and cooking vegetarian and vegan food · hard working, reliable, punctual and dependable, with a friendly, positive, can do attitude · have practice in prosperously managing a small team · be committed to your team, our establishment and provide excellent food and service · be a capable leader and manager, providing training, performance management, and rosters this function includes weekend work and occasional evenings.
