The Dunedin Fringe Arts Trust is seeking an independent contractor to lead publicity and marketing for the 2023 Dunedin Fringe Festival. The Publicity and Marketing Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks including coordinating media communication, paid advertising, signage, online presence, audience newsletters etc. You'll need good knowledge of the arts and be great at selling, writing, communicating, and thinking outside the box to make sure every event gets the audience Information technology deserves. You're committed to advancing the festival and arts practitioners, and will enjoy working within a small and passionate team including a publicist intern. Knowledge sharing and supporting publicists working on artist produced Fringe events is also critical. The contract is for a period of up to 11 weeks, full time, with the Fringe Office shutting down over Christmas.
We will consider partial remote working for the right candidate but in-person service is required immediately before and during the festival (16 - 26 March 2023).
Qualifications
   » Must be able to work legally in New Zealand
   » A good working knowledge of traditional media, with local and national contacts
   » knowledge of social media
   » capability to keep to a budget
   » Strong time management and scheduling expertise
   » An capability to work in a team and solve problems constructively
Indicative hourly rate $30-35.
