Wellington or Auckland located opportunitiesThe Ministry of Social Development has one of the largest Information Technology Groups in the country, providing services to more than one million New Zealanders a week via its service delivery lines. As a solution architect, you will play a significant function in the Ministry, supporting and developing the technology underpinning its client systems and enabling the Ministry's staff to deliver frontline, policy and corporate services.We need passionate people who will help us drive and deliver exciting new technology solutions as we embark on a generational shift in the delivery of digital social services. As well as constant challenges to meet new policy and legislative changes, the Ministry's technology strategy plans significant investment in Digital practice, Digital Employment and Cloud systems. Your responsibilities will include » Solving complex solution and system problems in one of the largest technology environments in NZ by designing system and solution architecture, system integration while aligning to MSD's strategy » Ensuring consistency within the specified requirements as agreed with internal stakeholders » Working collaboratively with other internal and external Technology teams » Helping the Ministry achieve its Technology Strategy and supporting our teams by developing, implementing and managing architecture standards and guidelines » Providing sound and confident technical and architectural leadership abilities to multi-functional software development and product teams Know how and expertise » practice in multiple hardware and software environments and be comfortable with complex system designs » Excellent communication expertise, including the capability to guide, negotiate and build consensus across multi-disciplinary agile team environments » A good grasp of Architecture concepts, structure and methodologies » practice in delivering solutions to complex applications involving multiple platforms » Demonstrated expertise of business and system architecture principles, frameworks, processes, and governance » Information technology is desirable if you have practice of working with the Agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Our fast-paced and supportive environment offers you scope to work on high profile & complex projects, a competitive income, plus a great bunch of people to work with.
