A one-month programme envisioned to create the mental and financial space for TWO artists to generate and grow ideas, collaborate with fellow artists, and support the development of connections between artists and venues. Our intention is for the programme to be largely self-directed, with some structure to allow for collaboration and relationship building. Last year with COVID-19 deeply impacting our industry and having a particular effect on artist sustaincapability, we wanted to find a way to utilise our space with a small budget, to provide artists significant opportunities. The Q Residency Programme 2022 was a grand success and industry feedback has been incredibly positive and heartwarming hence we have decided to continue this programme in 2023. We don't want this application process to be another laborious task to add to your plate. We're very aware that our industry in general has a lot of 'application fatigue' hence we don't need this application to be broad; no budgets or support materials are required; just keep Information technology short and sweet. Thanks to the support of Creative New Zealand, we've been able to build this Q Residency 2023 Programme as a second prototype after self-funding a pilot programme last year. We have only done this once before so we're open to feedback and happy to make changes as required with the overarching goal to provide foundational support for the artists involved.
