Mo tenei turana mahi – About this function
If you are a natural communicator with a passion for driving results through creative and conceptual thought leadership abilities, you will be well suited to support our leaders in Service Delivery and the wider team. You’ll be the key communicator between our heads of, strengthening cohesion across our organisation and enhancing the results for Maori.
You will enjoy a broad and varied function where you’ll provide expert practical and strategic advice on a range of matters, ensuring milestones are met and all significant business groups remain connected.
Key responsibilities of the function include the following:
   » Partnering with leaders to develop, drive and support ACC’s services to clients, helping to better the practice for Maori clients through their injury journey
   » Support the development and implementation of initiatives to validate the investment and impact on Te Tiriti and equity centric programmes within ACC
   » Provide expert technical advice and Maori worldviews on Maori development and interventions to improve Maori results and reducing inequities across ACC
   » Establish and maintain key internal and external stakeholder relationships, being a trusted representative of the wider team
   » Protect and enhance ACCs reputation by scanning the external environment and responding to the opportunities and challenges Information technology offers
   » Maintain a thorough knowledge of wider Government priorities and issues; ensuring the Deputy Chief Executive is informed of how they relate to ACC, and what action needs to be taken

   » practice facilitating leadership abilities discussions and strategy planning
   » a high level of competency in te reo me ona tikanga Maori with a deep knowledge of Maori culture, values, political and social systems, including strong iwi networks
   » demonstrated matauranga Maori including a sound knowledge of Kaupapa Maori approaches
   » broad knowledge, and proven capability to advise on the application of te Tiriti o Waitangi and Crown obligations to Maori development and wellbeing
   » practice advising senior leaders on engagement or reputational issues
   » great verbal, written and presentation expertise
   » proven practice in partnering and building strong relationships with business leaders, with the capability to influence and build trust quickly
   » practice working in a large government or public sector organisation in a similar function.
