Are you looking for a function that will have a positive impact on the lives of all people in Aotearoa New Zealand?
Te Hiringa Mahara (Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission) contributes to better and equitable mental health and wellbeing results for all people in Aotearoa. We have leadership abilities and oversight functions of the mental health and addiction system with monitoring and advocacy functions.
Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, the Principal Advisor Communications is a key function with responsibility for leading the continuing development and implementation of our communications and media management.
We are a small team, and this position gives you the opportunity to operate at a senior level across all facets of communications and media management. Your skills in implementing prosperous communication initiatives will help influence transformation of the mental health and wellbeing system – now and into the future.
To be prosperous in this function We are seeking for someone who has:
   » public sector practice in strategic communications with at least five years of significant communications practice
   » practice of providing advice at a Chief Executive/leadership abilities team level
   » knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Mâori tikanga and Mâori environments
   » demonstrated practice working prosperously in diverse cultural contexts
   » superb communication skills, with the capability to articulate complex issues clearly
   » a team player
   » a problem-solver who delivers results in a highly pressurised environment
   » an knowledge of or practice in working in the field of mental health is desirable
   » a tertiary qualification in a communications related discipline.
