The Report Writing and Research adjunct will provide support to Research Services staff and contractors tasked with completing Waitangi Tribunal commissioned research reports and other research tasks. This includes archival and online research, proofreading and editing of draft reports, reference checking, and other support for research reports commissioned for Waitangi Tribunal’s district and kaupapa inquiries. He p?kenga tou/expertise and practice To be the prosperous candidate, you will be able to demonstrate: »Research expertise – practice in archival and online research, including general familiarity with key repositories holding material significant to Waitangi Tribunal inquiries »Attention to detail - capability to focus on minute details of large and heavily referenced commissioned research reports »Communicationstrengths – capability to build and maintain positive relationships within the research services team and the Waitangi Tribunal Unit Candidates will also have an knowledge of, and commitment to, the work of the Waitangi Tribunal including knowledge of te reo, tikanga and m?tauranga M?ori. You will have a significant tertiary qualification, preferably in New Zealand history and/or M?ori studies. The Research Services team supports the Waitangi Tribunal as Information technology requires evidence to go to hearing. The Waitangi Tribunal Unit provides a comprehensive range of services to the Waitangi Tribunal, a permanent commission of inquiry that inquiries into, and reports on claims submitted by M?ori under the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975.
