Engineering Manager - ProjectsLocation All AucklandAuckland Job type Full Time Salary to Category Construction & Architecture > Project Management » Full time permanent role » Solid understanding of of business needs » Tertiary Qualification in Civil Engineering. Engineering Manager Auckland The primary purpose of this position is to provide engineering and design support to our client's operational projects, their tender teams, and their precast division. Your role will focus on enhancing innovative, cost effective and safe construction solutions as well as providing temporary works design support (some small-scale permanent works design may also be required). As the Engineering Manager you will » Lead a small technical team of both engineers and draftsmen. » Complete Temporary works design (including pile guide frames, lifting beams, formwork, staging bridges, working platforms, excavator/drill rig attachments). » Produce design detailing of SF Marina floating concrete pontoons and design of some pontoon attachments (including marina and pile design). » Provide input into tenders - scheme optimisation, development of alternative designs, temporary works designs and working with / managing external designers. » Develop of construction staging sequencing and modelling as required. » Be able to effectively self-manage work unsupervised, including liaising with site teams as required. » Service the design, review, and detailing needs of our Project teams in terms of their temporary works requirements. » Provide technical support to all staff as required. » Mentor site-based Engineers. » Participate in periodic site visits to assess the above with Project Managers, suggest smart alternatives and solutions and sign off that the temporary works have been installed correctly. » Conform with the company's operating guidelines, policies, and procedures. Qualifications / Experience / Competencies » Tertiary Qualification in Civil Engineering. » Some site experience is preferred. » Design experience (5+ years). » Experience with structural design software. » Some experience with pile design will be beneficial. » Ability to produce drawings in AutoCAD. » Current drivers' licence.
