Practice and Implementation Adviser

We work to shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent results.
At Te T?huhu o te M?tauranga – Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ?konga and wh?nau.
We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We do this by building relationships and knowledge the needs of those who receive our services.

   » taking practical action to give effect to te Tiriti o Waitangi
   » giving priority to regional and local voice
   » delivering greater responsiveness, accessibility and integrated services and support
   » improving feedback loops and information flows.

About our group and team
Learning Support is a critical part of the Te Mahau, Te Tai Whenua.. We are charged with leading the education sector in ensuring that children and young people with additional learning needs are supported to achieve their full potential through education.
Our Learning Support specialists work closely with families, wh?nau, caregivers, schools and early childhood educators in English and M?ori medium settings and other agencies to help maximise learning results and promote social inclusion.
About this function:
   » this function is to cover our current Practice and Implementation Advisor’s parental leave
   » The focus of this function is on embedding best practice within Learning Support
   » You will provide practice thought leadership abilities and will facilitate the broadening of field workers thinking to an all-of system approach to practice
   » You will be supporting and enabling the adoption and implementation of the new ways of thinking behaving and working within our region linking to He Pikorua
   » Additionally, where appropriate you will work with colleagues from other regions and with the National Practice and Implementation Leads, contributing to specialist skills to meet practice specific needs
About you
You will have a significant tertiary qualification, practice of the implementation of frameworks and influencing practice that support capcapability building and be a powerful function model with the capability to quickly develop high credibility across the region
You will also offer very strong interpersonal, influencing skills, rigorous logic and the capability to deal with difficult problems. You will demonstrate the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.
