Job Description

Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission leads the public sector to make a positive difference for New Zealand and New Zealanders.
Effective communication and engagement are fundamental to the Commission’s function as a system leader. The Communications and Engagement team provides strategic advice and services that support a unified Public Service, and professional communications function, that engenders public trust and confidence.
This is an opportunity to support senior leaders and agencies to make a positive difference to the services and results that New Zealanders rely upon, right at the heart of the Public Service.
As a Senior Advisor in the group, you will be responsible for:
   » Providing strategic advice to the Chief Communications agent and to senior leaders across the Commission
   » Planning and creating communications and engagement collateral, including for digital and social media platforms and audiences
   » Monitoring media coverage and engaging, or supporting others to engage, with media and external stakeholders on issues and opportunities significant to the Public Service.
   » Supporting the Commission’s internal communications programme as required.
You will have excellent writing skills, both strategic and tactical skills - with a focus on delivery and thorough knowledge of the Public Service and the context in which the Commission operates.
You will need to be able to build strong relationships and be committed to helping Te Kawa Mataaho engage openly and authentically, across the Public Service and with other stakeholders, across both traditional and digital channels.
this function will have some responsibility for advising on internal communications, so candidates will need to be able to demonstrate practice and skills in this field of work.

This position pays between $99,200 to $116,700 depending on skills and practice.
