About the Organisation
The Ministry of Social Development has one of the largest Information technology departments in New Zealand. Working in an Agile environment we are continuing our journey and are actively promoting agility right all over the Ministry of Social Development.
To enable the Ministry to better help New Zealanders who need our support, we are experiencing rapid growth in our Information technology area to ensure solutions can be delivered to our front line and our clients quickly.

The opportunity
As a Systems Engineer function, you will provide solutions within IST and be apart of the Network team here within Improvement Systems and Technology.
You will be working with a blend of internal and external stakeholders to deliver results to suit our business and our clients.
Due to continued organisational requirements; We are seeking at increasing capabilities within our Wellington office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high performing team and to be involved in the maintaining of core network capabilities.
Core functions of this function are
   » Working closely with wider operations groups
   » Systems Integration
   » Porting/Software Configuration
   » Systems installation/decommissioning
   » After-hours on-call and scheduled work
   » Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
   » Maintaining policies, standards and playbooks within the managed environment
You will bring with you the follow competencies
   » The capability to thrive in the fast-paced, changing nature of our work
   » Wholeheartedly embrace the Agile way of working and model the right behaviour for your peers and colleagues
   » Have a pragmatic approach to the task at hand and can collaborate and deliver continuous improvement
   » The capcapability to work alongside an practice and dedicated team of Engineers
You will ideally be a specialist in the following technologies
   » Network, Wireless and Firewall practice
   » practice in Cisco Call Manager
   » The capability to install and support Network Management Tools
   » Associate level practice with TCP, IP routing and Firewalls
   » practice working in New Zealand data centres

income range: $102,348 – $124,203
