Job Description

This part-time function working 20 hours per week is located anywhere in the Mid to Upper Northland region. We offer a hybrid working model and you will be provided with a laptop and mobile phone to enable you to work flexibly.Travel may be required from time to time, so a full clean driver’s licence is essential.
Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, a fundamental part of this function is about establishing, building, and maintaining stakeholder relationships. As the central point of contact for our Community Health and the wider Hato Hone St John, the most important aspect of this function is your engagement with the wider Northland Community.
Key responsibilities include:
   » Support the Community Engagement Manager, the wider Community Engagement team and local Area Committees to deliver community impact plans
   » Provide support in the delivery of high quality, sustainable, health focused community development projects, initiatives, and events to meet community needs
   » Increasing the Hato Hone St John profile within the community by actively promoting our services and initiatives in the area
   » Assist the local Area Committees with planning, promotion and building stakeholder relationships for new and existing community initiatives
   » Provide budgeting and cost analysis support to the local committees
   » Write pieces to be included in the regional newsletter and regularly post on social media
   » Actively work side by side to create opportunities to share successes and learnings of projects and initiatives to help support continuous development
expertise and practice you’ll bring:
   » An knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is essential, as is a good knowledge of and affinity with tikanga M?ori and Te Reo, and good ties with iwi
   » Effective community partnership with the local marae/hap?/iwi
   » Proficiency in Te Reo M?ori (desirable)
   » practice in community engagement along with both an knowledge and appreciation for what’s needed to build community capcapability and resilience
   » Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building expertise
   » Great communication expertise in both verbal and written form
   » capability to manage multiple and competing priorities effectively
   » Excellent organisational and time management expertise, and an capability to adapt your approach to meet different community needs
   » Strong expertise in MS Office along with the capability to interpret financial reports
   » Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours (available to attend quarterly meetings at weekends/evenings)
   » A full clean New Zealand full driver’s licence
