About us – M? m?tou
The Ng?i Tahu M?ori Health Research Unit (NTMHRU) contributes to a wide variety of M?ori health research projects and initiatives within the Division of Health Sciences, the University of Otago and our communities to ensure important and beneficial results for M?ori are attained.
The function – Te mahi
As a Teaching Fellow, you will assist with teaching undergraduate and post-graduate courses convened by NTMHRU staff.
In particular, you will:
   » support the teaching of PUBH204, PUBH712 and PUBH304.
   » plan and deliver tutorials for undergraduate Hauora M?ori courses PUBH204, and PUBH304.
   » assist with the preparation and development of course material, course plans and assessment.
   » provide administrative support to course convenors.
   » invigilate and mark assessment exercises and provide feedback to students on their progress towards learning results.
   » provide appropriate pastoral support to students.
   » share knowledge with and contribute to the NTMHRU team and broader University community.

prosperous candidates will have:
   » an undergraduate bachelor’s degree in a significant field.
   » prior knowledge or practice of Hauora M?ori.
   » an knowledge of and practice with Te Reo M?ori and Tikanga M?ori.
   » proficiency in standard software applications such as the Microsoft Office suite.
   » excellent written and verbal communication expertise.
   » excellent organisation and planning expertise.
In addition, desirable expertise or practice include:
   » a PhD in a significant field.
   » practice teaching or tutoring at a tertiary level.
   » practice using University systems such as Blackboard, Moodle and eVision.

This is a permanent, full-time (1.0 FTE), fixed-term position.
Candidates will be appointed within the Teaching Fellow Band 1 or Band 2 income scale, located on qualifications and practice.
