National Library's Services to Schools sits within the Information and Knowledge Services branch, the Department's epicentre of information management, culture and heritage.
Services to Schools are looking for an exceptional person to work with our Poutiaki Rauemi alongside our nationwide team of Capcapability Facilitators supporting reading engagement, literacy and library development in New Zealand schools with a particular focus on Kura Kaupapa M?ori and M?ori medium schools. This full time, permanent position will be located in Auckland and have a particular focus on strengthening connections to our reading and literacy resources and services.
The function of Capcapability Facilitator M?ori is to develop capcapability in the library and education sectors, particularly in M?ori medium education with an emphasis on our priority areas of reading engagement, school library development, digital literacy and culture and heritage.
This is achieved through
   » Provision of rauemi for kura and schools
   » delivery of Professional Development
   » developing capcapability in school communities through providing advice and facilitation
   » developing resources which support capcapability building
Our team Facilitators come from a range of professional backgrounds with both teaching and library qualifications and practice.
We welcome applications for people with:
   » excellent communication, facilitation, advocacy and presentation expertise which enable them to engage with Principals, teachers and school library staff to effect change
   » deep interest and knowledge in any or all of our priority areas of reading engagement, school library development, digital literacy and culture and heritage
   » Strong knowledge or fluency in Te Reo M?ori
   » Teaching and/or library practice and qualifications
