Our next festival is scheduled to begin in October 2023. Our current artistic director is leaving to expand her family. We therefore seek an outstanding individual who can deliver a festival that continues to expand minds, delight audiences and touch all corners of the community. The primary purpose of the artistic director function is to lead and manage the artistic vision and delivery of the 2023 Tauranga Arts Festival, in conformity with the strategic direction set by Tauranga Arts Festival Trust board.We envisage this will be a full-time function during the initial contract term of March 2023 - December 2023, though the contract may be extended by mutual agreement for subsequent festivals. The prosperous candidate will be keen to build on the tradition and success of Tauranga Arts Festival and also our literary festival Escape. Our new artistic director will have strong arts sector connections, profile and expertise, and will be tuned in artistically, politically, culturally and community-wise. Key personal attributes include being positive, passionate, professional, friendly, flexible, capability to deal with problems and an capability to take ownership.
