PROJECT COORDINATORS - CAPITAL WORKS, MAJOR PROJECT DELIVERY

The beating heart of South Auckland is enhanced by the Counties Manukau District Health Board, providing high-quality and responsive services to the growing community population, with this is the increased demand to provide new facilities and to upgrade assets to ensure this critical healthcare provider meets the health needs of the region.
About this function:
Sitting within the Major Capital Works project team, the focus of this function will assist the Project Managers with the co-ordination and delivery of facilities development and upgrade project work that will include project management, planning, contract management, management of project budgets, quality assurance, and a variety of coordination tasks relating to day-to-day operational tasks and issues.
Working within the ?built' footprint of the DHB, the Project Coordinator will work closely across the project lifecycle with external Contractors and the internal Clinical Services stakeholders to ensure the project/facilities work doesn't impede of the health services being delivered. this function will also be the key person monitoring the Health and Safety requirements and control of all Contractor relationships on the multiple sites delivering project construction works.
With multiple sites and numerous project works planned or underway, we require two Project Coordinators.
About you:
We need resourceful and dynamic Project Coordinators with outstanding administrative expertise, multi-tasking capability, time management, and diligence to ?get the right job' done. To be prosperous within this team and organisation you will need an engaging initiative-taking communication style, strong analytical and lateral thinking attributes, and possess a can-do attitude.
You will have 10+ years of practice working on NZ building or project delivery sites, have had 5 years in a managery function coordinating and managing contractors within ?live' construction environments where public access enables the heavy traffic flow of staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to site and to ensure the Health and Safety protocols are stringently followed.
Your strong people expertise along with the capability to build respectful and sound working business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders will be valued. You will have a strong expertise of construction Health and Safety requirements and be the champion to ensure Health and Safety protocols are followed by all Contractors on site, escalating risks appropriately.
You may be a Project Manager looking to gain more work practice on larger scale construction projects or have a trade building qualification looking to join a ?client-side' construction coordination function or be an ex Clinician looking to support the projects, so project management expertise would be advantageous along with high competency in computer literacy for documenting and contract of projects, budgets, and all manner of project administrative tasks.
For the prosperous candidates, there will be full project orientation and familiarisation with the hospital facilities and construction processes, along with working as part of a supportive Facilities, Asset Management and Engineering team.
