The Trades Academy provides secondary school students with a wonderful opportunity to try out a vocation they are interested in. They can get a taste of what a job may be like and get hands on practice.
Due to the strong demand for Trades Academy places, We are pursuing expressions of interest from suitably qualified candidates to teach Carpentry students.
This will involve teaching Trades Academy students for 3 days per week, Wed, Thurs and Friday, February to October. Additional opportunities may also be available for term 4 within the Carpentry team.
The ideal candidates will:
· Have appropriate Carpentry expertise, expertise and practice
· Be able to work alongside students and encourage learning with empathy for youth and learning styles highly important
· Be able to demonstrate a positive attitude to safety procedures
An Industry related qualification is desired but not compulsory.
Most importantly you must have a genuine interest in working with young adults and enthusiasm for sharing your expertise.
