New Zealand Blood Service, a high profile one of a kind organisation in New Zealand is seeking a successor to their talented and well-respected CFO who is retiring at the end of this year. With the significance of this key function a comprehensive handover and transition period is envisaged. New Zealand Blood Service, a Crown entity is a complex manufacturing business that is clinically driven, and patient focused. Information technology manufactures blood and blood products, manages broad tissue banking facilities and is the national agency responsible for organ donation. Whilst Government owned and operating within public sector governance rules, New Zealand Blood Service works with the pace and agility of a commercial organisation but with additional governance. About the function This is an influential leadership abilities function reporting to the CEO and is a key member of a high performing Executive leadership abilities Team. As a trusted advisor to the Executive, you will ensure the organisation meets its various financial and non-financial obligations and contribute to the strategic direction and overall performance of the business through robust financial and commercial management. Leading a talented, reliable, high performing finance team you will be accountable for the finance function and deliver effective financial management, financial strategy, policy development, operational analysis, compliance with all shareholding and debt funding covenants, and supervise financial information systems. Additionally, you will identify business improvement and enhanced performance opportunities utilising analytics and business intelligence capabilities to support sound decision making. You will be the key point of contact for the Board and Finance Committee on financial matters and build strong connections with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal working relationships are developed and maintained. expertise and Competencies This is an exciting time for a talented and seasoned CFO to join the organisation during its significant growth, development, and change journey. Without question your proven performance has been at the highest level of professionalism and integrity with a solid reputation for fiscal and commercial risk management and partnering with and enabling the operational side of the business. CA/CPA qualified, practice will ideally have been gained in manufacturing or similar process or detailed complex costing and accounting environments. Commercially astute and forward thinking you will have very strong treasury and forex management practice, be adept at managing complex major capital investment programmes and managing funding risk, have strong forecasting, cashflow management and risk mitigation expertise, and proven practice working with Boards and the preparation of Board papers. Known for being a collaborative, engaging, supportive, and respectful leader you will thrive on immersing yourself in the business to understand its unique drivers, rhythms, growth challenges, and critical influences and will enjoy developing and building capcapability within your team.
