APO Connecting brings together our professional players with schools, individuals and communities in a flagship programme that is widely applauded by educators and community leaders. Through the APO Connecting programme we inspire young musicians, connect music makers and music lovers of the present and the future, and offer concerts, workshops and tutorials for young people across all ages and ethnicities. The function of theAPO Connecting Projects Facilitatorwill be to deliver the APO Inspire Partnership Programme with the University of Auckland School of Music, the Haydn Staples Pano Scholarship Programme amongst other importamt programes as well as supporting the wider aims and objectives of the APO Connecting programme through new community projects and initiatives. This dynamic and fast paced function will include working across the organisation with all departments from ticketing and marketing; to development and orchestra management; but also with key external stakeholders such as the University of Auckland and Staples Education Foundation. To be prosperous in this function you will need to have a passion for, and familiarity with, orchestral music; be confident in communicating with a variety of people from all walks of life, in particular artists and educators; building relationships with collaborative partners across the education sector; and a availability to work in a flexible and dynamic work environment. Excellent communication in all forms of spoken and written English, a solid knowledge of education processes at tertiary level music is desired and a passion for your work is essential.
