All positions are live-in positions. Do you love stunning scenery, being immersed in nature, and having time to enjoy it? Do you want to live somewhere that amazes everyone who visits? If the answer to the above is YES, then keep reading... Kinloch Wilderness Retreat is surrounded by the beech forest alongside Lake Whakatipu and the Dart River. We are a small family business consisting of a lodge with heritage rooms (from 1868!), backpacker rooms, EcoScapes, and a cozy restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. We are constantly working towards lightening our impact on the planet and helping guests enjoy a mindful, relaxing environment. Last year we put in a yurt, nested in the beech forest above the lodge, and are working towards a retreat located environment. Type of work: Most work is cleaning and housekeeping. We may also need help with prep work in the restaurant kitchen, and occasionally service. Sometimes help is needed in our cute cafe/gift shop in Glenorchy, where work includes preparing and serving food and drinks, or housekeeping for our guesthouse. Due to the training required we ask for a minimum of 3 weeks commitment for these positions; if we're having a quiet day you can jump in and help with the work listed below. For those looking for shorter stays, there is plenty of outdoor work - tidying up the grounds, splitting logs for firewood, weeding, site maintenance etc. We are happy to work to people's expertise and match you to work as best we can. You We are seeking for enthusiastic people that are not afraid of hard work, are detail oriented, and able to work efficiently and independently. We require all our staff to speak English fluently. All casual staff require a WORKING VISA and an IRD NUMBER. We offer at least 14hrs work a week to cover your accommodation costs. There may be more hours for the right people who work at a good pace, to a good standard and independently. If you are a trained masseuse or yoga teacher we have spaces where you can offer these expertise and gain yourself some extra money. Accommodation Accommodation is in the cozy staff house, with great lake and mountain views. You'll have your own room, endlesshigh speed wifi, free laundry, a TV room with over 200 DVDs and a fully equipped kitchen. You can also enjoy our kayaks, bicycles, fishing rods (license required), and of course the hot tub with amazing views! John and Toni are happy to help you arrange groceries from Queenstown if you're unable to go or simply don't want to, or Countdown deliver to Glenorchy.
