Auckland Council'sProud Centres is a series of free, fun community events across T?maki Makaurau, as part of Auckland Pride Festival, to promote the acceptance of our Rainbow communities, embrace diversity and celebrate unity. Each year inFebruary,Proud Centresbringscouncil's network of communityfacilitiesand librariestolife witha variety ofvibrant andentertainingactivitiesfor local communitiestoenjoy.Ranging from cooking classesto drag bingo, sports tournaments and a masquerade ball,alongside more serious events covering importantLGBTQIA+issues, Proud Centres provides opportunities for all Aucklanders to come together, connect, learn, share and participate in Pride. Our aim for Proud Centres 2022 is to build a programme that celebrates, raises visibility and representation of Auckland'sRainbow communities while ensuring the spaces and platforms we are providing are safe and inclusive.
