Counties Manukau Health is one of New Zealand's largest District Health Boards with a significant and complex infrastructure footprint.

The Director of Infrastructure is a key executive leadership abilities function reporting to the CEO and contributes to the strategic direction and overall performance of the organisation as a member of the diverse Executive leadership abilities Team. This is a critical function in providing and demonstrating leadership abilities across the organisation in conformity with their values, and to deliver on the organisation's mission to enable clinical service to provide support in the delivery of quality health services.
Providing strategic leadership abilities and operational management you will drive the performance of the infrastructure services function to translate and deliver on the Board's priorities into a comprehensive programme of major and minor capital works across the investment areas of Growth, Remediation, and Future Facilities prioritised to meet the ever-flexing needs of the services provided by this large-scale District Health Board.
Accountable for enhancing the value of their facility and clinical engineering assets, along with the delivery of effective project execution, this function will manage the full remit of infrastructure services. Therefore, you will have significant senior management and leadership abilities practice in an infrastructure directorate requiring highly expert project management disciplines and technical competencies in engineering, building and construction project management, having led infrastructure and capital planning functions, asset management, and long-term investment planning in the property/built/infrastructure and machinery and equipment portfolios.
You will have a least 10 years of proven leadership abilities in a complex and significant portfolio of infrastructure/facilities management, strategic capital asset planning and management, and the deployment of construction projects ($200m+ whole of life cost), coupled with executive practice in infrastructure work with Boards and Governance structures, and a strong unwavering commitment to Health and Safety.
The capability to lead through a high level of engagement with strong clear communications, visible and empowering people management, relationship development, and stakeholder engagement expertise are crucial to the success of this function, as is an open, approachable, collaborative and influential style.
