M? te t?ranga mahi | About the function We are seeking for Somebody with knowledge and practice of waste minimisation and practice in helping guide and support programmes with community and business partners, to support them to reduce waste and emissions. Working collaboratively with other agencies, a range of stakeholders and delivery agents, you will help develop communications for the launch of kerbside recycling standardisation, in addition to supporting our food waste reduction partnerships and commissioning research. In this function you will work closely alongside a Senior Advisor to support significant research, non-regulatory voluntary initiatives and partnerships. M? m?tou |About the Data, Evidence & Emissions Reduction team The team sits in the Waste and Resource Efficiency Division and is responsible for delivery of the waste and fluorinated gases chapters of the emissions reduction plan, as well as the data and evidence function to support that function and the wider division. Behavioural Insights is a new function for us. We are excited to be growing our capacity in this area, to ensure that we implement our waste strategy, emissions reduction plan and other work in a way that is user-centric, has m?tauranga M?ori designed in and is guided by behavioural insights. Ng? p?kenga me ng? wheako | expertise and practice Our ideal candidate will offer: » A strong knowledge of the resource and recycling sector and will have had practice in creating waste communications or working with community groups. » A strong knowledge of behavioural science and direct practice of how Information technology can be applied to help solve complex real-life problems. » capability to quickly assimilate complex issues across multiple policy areas and distil insights into practical solutions. » A availability to be part of a multi-disciplinary team all of whom are passionate and focused on engaging with our complex environmental issues, and in doing this, lgain from colleagues and experts (national and international) and adapt your own practice model with new insights, expertise, and techniques. » Commitment to developing your cultural capcapability and capacity in te ao M?ori. » Ideally a degree in a significant subject area, including, but not limited to behavioural economics, social/behavioural psychology, environmental psychology, environmental management design thinking and evaluation methods. However equivalent practical practice will also be taken into consideration. Other capabilities that would complement the above expertise/practice: » Knowledge/practice working with the waste industry and/or local government in Aotearoa. » knowledge and practice with machinery of government processes, systems and tools. » An capability to work well under pressure, be a team player and manage a range of tasks at one time.
