The Queensland Symphony Orchestra is seeking to appoint a skilled Executive Producer - QSO Mainstage to support the artistic growth and vibrancy of QSO through programming and planning delivery for QSO mainstage performances and other projects. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to bring their creative and producing practices to Queensland's iconic orchestra at a time of expanding opportunities and musical growth.

The position of Executive Producer - QSO Mainstage is a key function in the Artistic team and is responsible for:
   » Leading delivery of agreed programming of QSO mainstage performances that align with the QSO's artistic strategic objectives, are transformative and showcase the traditional and the contemporary.
   » Sourcing and planning potential projects and opportunities that support the organisation's strategy for financial stcapability and growth.
   » superviseing planning activities for QSO mainstage performances, commercially focused projects, orchestral services and hires and related activities, including the requirements around all artists, choirs and other personnel engaged for the activity.
   » superviseing the planning documents and artist agreements required around QSO mainstage performances, commercially focused projects, orchestral services, hires and related activities.

Key Responsibilities include :
Programming and Planning
   » Develop concepts and programs, including proposing guest artists (including conductors, composers, presenters, soloists, choirs), for agreed QSO performances and projects that align with the QSO's artistic and yearly strategic objectives, across both subsidised mainstage and QSO-presented salary-generating activity.
   » Negotiate the involvement of guest artists (including conductors, composers, presenters, soloists, choirs) for the agreed performances and projects, including selection of repertoire.
Projects and Opportunities
   » Develop relationships and networks that lead to potential non-mainstage performance projects and orchestra hire opportunities with guidance from the Director - Artistic Planning and other members of the Senior leadership abilities Team.
   » Develop financial and artistic vicapability assessment data for all projects and manage business case development for projects assessed as viable.
Activity Management
   » Manage the artistic components of the yearly season budget with guidance from the Director - Artistic Planning and other members of the Senior leadership abilities Team.
   » Aligned with budget preparation and sign-off, negotiate the fees and conditions for the engagement of guest artists (including conductors, composers, presenters, soloists, choirs) for QSO performances, special events and related activities.
   » supervise the schedules of and internal and external requests for all artists, choirs and other personnel for QSO performances and special events.

Essential Criteria
   » Tertiary qualifications in music or arts administration
   » Demonstrated practice in/and expertise of classical and orchestral music and the classical music sector
   » Demonstrated practice in arts sector project management including event production practice and scheduling
   » Strong financial and budget management expertise across multiple projects and productions
   » practice in, and familiarity with contracting and negotiations with artistic and creative personnel, agents, venues and partners
   » capability to proactively solve problems and work with ambiguity
   » Demonstrated verbal and written communication expertise of an exceptional standard
   » Excellent organisational expertise with strong attention to detail
   » Excellent computer expertise including Excel
   » Strong interpersonal expertise and an capability to work independently and as part of a team
   » Hold a current ?C? class Drivers Licence
   » capability to work outside of normal business hours

Desirable criteria
   » Music literacy and education highly desirable
   » capability to contribute ideas for the improvement of work processes and the work environment
