About our group Te Puna Kaupapahere focuses on a whole-of-system, end-to-end policy integration covering early learning, compulsory schooling, and tertiary including Maori medium, te reo Maori, Pacific and Learning Support We provide advice to enable an education system which contributes to the skills and knowledge needed by people for social, cultural, economic and environmental wellbeing. We develop policy about vocational skills, access pathways, international education and student financial support. We manage the Ministry’s international engagements and cooperation agreements. About this function As a Ministerial Advisor in Te Puna Kaupapahere, you act as the interface between the Policy Group and the wider Ministry, bringing your skills in the machinery of government to bear on a fast-paced and vital function. You will commission and coordinate Ministerial correspondence, Official Information Act (OIA) requests and Written Parliamentary Questions (WPQs), as well as advice, responses and material to support Estimates and Annual Review processes. You will also support and cover for the team’s Enquiries Coordinator as needed. About you this function is fast-paced and will exercise your powers of diplomacy, critical thinking and composure. Ideally, you will be an adept and agile communicator, able to absorb large amounts of information quickly and prioritise accordingly.
