About us The Parent Information Community Intelligence (PICI) group designs and drives initiatives that support parents, wh?nau, hap?, iwi, employers, and communities to engage and positively influence education. The Employer Business Industry team is focused on education to employment opportunities. The team supports results for young people by brokering between business, industry and schools, and supporting regional activities. About the function The Business Employer Liaison Manager is responsible for maintaining a network of effective relationships with employers, industry and philanthropic organisations. The function: » advocates and supports work-integrated pathway initiatives » supports events and initiatives that enable young people to discover, explore and connect to the world of work » maintains strategic relationships with philanthropic organisations, key industries, and regional organisations that support education to employment pathways » gathers insights from employers to inform policy design or operational imp rovements » supports advice to Ministers, and promotes employment results for learners across the wider Ministry work programmes » advocates for education to employment pathways for young people across government organisations. About you To be prosperous in this function, you will be passionate about improving the employment results for New Zealand’s young people. You are an practiced leader, and will have: » strong knowledge of the interests of business and industry » prosperously led a team to deliver a varied programme of work » built and maintained strategic relationships » a track record of delivering innovative and creative solutions » gathered insights and effectively advocated across a complex system for better results for learners » practically applied Te Tiriti o Waitangi in an education context » a working knowledge of te ao M?ori, Pacific, ethnic communities, and disabled peoples’ contexts.
