Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission leads the Public Service to make a positive difference for New Zealand and New Zealanders. The positions sit within System and Agency Performance Group which supports the Commission’s vision and objectives for the Public Service by ensuring we have strong leadership abilities and governance of the Public Service, and enabling agencies to deliver services that make a difference for New Zealand.
Our work includes:
   » supporting the appointment of world class leaders to chief executive positions in our Public Service
   » knowledge and enhancing the performance of agencies across the Public Service
   » providing support for chief executives to be prosperous in their functions and careers
   » providing guidance and support to drive the direction and performance of Crown entities.
As a Senior Analyst in the group, you will have a lead function in providing high-quality analysis and advice to adjunct and Deputy Commissioners to enable the Commission to lead and influence improvements, now and in the future, at agency, sector and system wide levels. In this function, you will be a key adviser to an adjunct Commissioner and have responsibility for providing high quality advice on agency and system issues across a portfolio of agencies.
Our adjunct Commissioners play a key leadership abilities function working with chief executives and agencies to shape the direction and performance of the Public Service. As a trusted adviser, you will work directly with adjunct Commissioners to make this happen. Your work will see you interfacing across agencies and with senior leaders to help create a leading edge, unified, trusted Public Service that serves Aotearoa.
You will develop high quality analysis and advice to understand the performance and impact of Public Service agencies. As a trusted adviser, your work will support Ministers, the Public Service Commissioner, and senior decision makers to enable the delivery of high quality services across the Public Service.

   » are motivated self-starters with the capability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and undertake tasks with limited direction
   » work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member
   » manage tasks and competing priorities, anticipate and meet the needs of stakeholders.
We are open to hearing from individuals that could bring a range of expertise and practice to the function.
This position usually pays between $99,200 to $116,700 depending on expertise and practice.
