Each year our team develop new works, supporting a range of talent and ensuring M?ori theatre remains bold and contemporary. Our productions offer important contributions to New Zealand's creative discourse, providing insight into the development of our nation.
The function
Reporting to the Kaiwhakahaere Matua (General Manager), the Contractor will provide services as a Kaihaut? Toi Whakaari - Performing Arts Senior Producer for a fixed term contracted period of 10 months in 2022 including but not limited to:
(a) providing services as a Kaihaut? Toi Whakaari (Performing Arts Senior Producer) to the highest professional standards;
(b) working under the direction of and complying with all reasonable requests of the Kaiwhakahaere Matua (General Manager), the Kahukura / Kaiarataki Toi (Chief Executive / Artistic Director);
(c) working closely with the kaimahi (staff) of Taki Rua, as well as a wide variety of contractors, stakeholders and suppliers, as a representative of Taki Rua;
(d) administration, production and company management responsibilities towards the effective delivery of the 2022 performance and development programmes;
(e) administration, production and company management responsibilities towards the effective planning of the 2023-2024 performance and development programmes;
(f) attending all required rehearsals, performance workshops, marketing promotions and technical procedures in relation to programmes;
(g) growing and maintaining venue stakeholder relationships and co-ordinating venue bookings for all Taki Rua programming from 2022-2024;
(h) coordinating personnel, equipment and other logistical needs for Taki Rua 2022-2024 programming, in conjunction with the Kaiwhakahaere Hanga H?taka (Production Manager);
(i) supporting Taki Rua executives and management to develop and nurture stakeholder and supplier relationships;
(j) working with Taki Rua management to develop and implement systems for greater efficiency;
(k) supporting the Kaiwhakahaere Matua and the Kahukura / Kaiarataki Toi with all 2022 production budgets, including advising of required changes, and assisting in the creation of production budgets for the 2023-2024 planned programming;
(l) superviseing and implementing ticketing systems in conjunction with the marketing and funding team and venues for the 2022 mainbill season of Tiki Taane Mahuta including pricing tiers and post-season data collection;
(m) superviseing recruitment of contractors for the 2022-2024 Taki Rua programme of works;
(n) costing and quoting of the 2022 workshops for Hatu Patu including set design and technical equipment, and linking this in to bookings for the 2023 rehearsal and performance season;
(o) superviseing and implementing all intellectual property and licensing rights with APRA, Playmarket and other rights holders, required to carry out the Taki Rua programme of works from 2022-2024;
(p) working with the funding and marketing teams to develop and implement audience relationships both within performance seasons and all over the year;
(q) working with the Kaiwhakahaere Matua and Kahukura/ Kaiarataki Toi to plan and implement presentations and stakeholder relationships at the 2022 PANNZ conference and prepare for the 2023 PANNZ conference or other international conferences;
(r) leading and mentoring the Kai?whina Kaihaut? Toi Whakaari - adjunct Producer in collaboration with the Kaiwhakahaere Matua and Kahukura / Kaiarataki Toi;
(s) not engaging in any activity while contracted to Taki Rua that jeopardises or detracts from the quality of their work or contravenes the Taki Rua values.

   » You have excellent communication, relationship management, and interpersonal expertise.
   » You are digitally savvy including advanced expertise of Microsoft software, budgeting software and CRM platforms and ticketing platforms.
   » You will hold at least a class 1 full drivers licence.
