About the group
The Sector Enablement and Support Group is the key interface between the Ministry and schools, wharekura, education providers, and communities. Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people.
About the function
Reporting to the Manager Operational Performance and Planning – Sector Enablement and Support, the Lead Adviser is responsible for business process design, resources to support staff capcapability development, quality assurance and improvement, and content management of the Sector Enablement and Support hub. The Lead Adviser works with other teams within the Ministry to support im plementation and development of new initiatives.
The key priorities are:
   » Making sure SE&S is equipped to deliver on Ministry and Government priorities
   » Reviewing and reporting on the group’s overall performance to enable the SE&S leadership abilities
   » Business Process Design and Capcapability Building – assisting with the development of SE&S infrastructure to support how we work
   » Proactively contribute to the development of an effective working environment within SE&S that encourages high performance, engagement and collaboration across teams
   » knowledge and having practice in using technology to support the function, especially with Atlassian suite of tools, would be an advantage
   » knowledge and applying the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga
