Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.

Capital Works manages the planning and delivery of major redevelopments, new builds and infrastructure upgrades for New Zealand schools as part of the Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), one of the largest property portfolios in New Zealand. About the function
It’s an exciting time in our team and we are on the hunt for a Technical Advisor to join an exciting new programme within the Education Infrastructure Group as we embark on a major transformation.
The Technical Advisor is responsible for providing research and building performance analysis to inform policy, design decisions and technical specifications. You will be expected to work across teams and programmes, bringing your knowledge of the building environment and talent for data analysis to lift the performance of school buildings and support great learning results for students.
About you
Ideally you will have a tertiary qualification in architecture, building science, engineering or building services (post-graduate preferred) or the equivalent level of practical practice, excellent analysis and problem-solving capability and practice with evidence-located decision making and intervention logic.
You will also offer the following:
   » The proven capability to deliver results by taking ownership, and being proactive and pragmatic
   » practice in writing technical documentation
   » An knowledge of New Zealand’s political, economic, cultural and social structures
   » practice in design, consenting and/or construction
