About our group and team In the Strategy, Planning and Governance - Te Ohu Rautaki group, we help coordinate and supervise organisational planning and strategy, and specific priority initiatives. We work with Ministers to support delivery of the Ministry’s work programme. We provide legal advice and facilitate communications and risk management across the organisation to foster public trust and confidence. The Corporate Strategy and Performance Hub (CSP Hub) – Ng? Tautiaki Whakamahere, is responsible for leading the development of the Ministry’s organisational strategy and ensures senior leaders and boards receive insight and advice that supports the Ministry shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent results. The Project Investment Advice team (PIA) supports the Ministry to deliver the right projects and programmes to achieve its strategic priorities and targets within the agreed timeframes and cost. Project and Investment Advice acts as a central point of oversight for Ministry programmes and projects. As well as capturing activity and ensuring projects and programmes are co-ordinated and prioritised, the PIA provides advice, support, and best practice tools. About this function In this function you will have the opportunity, as part of the PIA team, to: » be a key contributor to the CSP Hub’s delivery of insight and advice to support senior leaders and governing boards enabling them to shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent results » use your initiative, and well-developed analysis expertise, to identify opportunities for improvements to existing processes and work directly with business groups to document, workshop and refine, and optimise these practices and processes » contribute to the building and maintaining of a repository of best practice project and programme methodology tools and templates for use across the Ministry. About you You will have: » initiative paired with an innovative and conceptual thinking style » asignificant tertiary qualification or practice in a similar function » asound knowledge of how Government Departments operate and be skilled in analytical thinking and problem solving using accepted frameworks, approaches techniques and tools. You will also: » be able to recognise the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to the Ministry’s work and give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the course of your everyday work and business: – Be able to be assigned tasks and then work independently, with minimal direction, engaging a range of stakeholder groups directly as required – Strong written and verbal communication expertise with an capability to form effective relationships with a range of stakeholders Are you ready to make a difference?
