We have a great opportunity for an practiced documentary heritage leader to join the Alexander Turnbull Library's leadership abilities team as Digital Collections Leader. In this function you will report to the Associate Chief Librarian, Research Collections and work collaboratively with staff across the Turnbull Library and the National Library, as well as with our colleagues at Archives New Zealand and Ng? Taonga Sound &Vison. The Digital Collections team is a large team made up of Web Archivists, Digital Archivists, and our in-house team of digitisation and imaging specialists. This is a strongly collaborative team of technical and subject specialists, skilled at working across teams in both the National Library and Archives New Zealand to build and preserve our digital collections. The Digital Collections Team works in close collaboration with other teams across the Library, particularly Arrangement & Description, Curatorial Services, Collection Care, Research Services, Outreach, and the National Library's acquisitions and digital preservation teams. To be prosperous in the function you will have: » The talent to communicate effectively with wide-ranging audiences and communities, including the capability to convey sometimes complex and technical information to general audiences. » Demonstrated knowledge of and engagement with archival theories and principles, especially as they relate to digital curation. You will have the knowledge and capability to communicate and lead in this area. » practice working with documentary heritage collections in a Library, Archives or similar organisation and demonstrated knowledge of the need for responsible stewardship of collections, balancing collection building with the Library's capacity to facilitate access to collections. » Demonstrated capability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with donors, vendors, the wider business, and documentary heritage sector colleagues » The capability to build, lead and manage a team that works together creatively, collaboratively, and effectively, promoting a culture of equity and inclusiveness within the Library and across the Department The Alexander Turnbull Library is part of the National Library of New Zealand and sits within the Information and Knowledge Services branch, the Department's epicentre of information management, culture and heritage.K?kiri, k?kiri, k?kiri!
