Volunteer Service Abroad -?Te T?ao T?w?hi?(VSA) is Aotearoa's leading international development volunteer agency, connecting people and supporting countries across the Pacific to build their own capacity and sustaincapability.

As Te Tumu Whakarae, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership abilities in a dynamic operating environment that offers both challenges and opportunities. You'll continue to foster an engaged and empowered culture amongst the organisation's 40+ staff located in Aotearoa and across the Pacific.
Key priorities include ensuring VSA embraces and reflects a strong Aotearoa identity incorporating Te Tiriti o Waitangi at its heart, diversifying the organisation's volunteer and funding base, and taking a visionary approach to continuing the transformation of VSA's operating model in order to meet the emerging dynamics and changing needs of the world.
VSA has a strong multicultural commitment to its work and a kaupapa that values diversity and inclusion. As such, a strong focus on te Ao M?ori and Pasifika is vital, as well as an knowledge of and commitment to the values of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Person Profile :
   » A transformational leader, ready to take VSA to the next level
   » Strong cultural competency and/or connections in te ao M?ori and/or Pasifika communities
   » Demonstrated people leadership abilities skills and a style that promotes a strong and innovative organisational culture
   » Executive level practice, with a proven reputation for leadership abilities in the not-for-profit sector
   » capability to think strategically and translate strategic direction into prosperous operational initiatives
   » A connector and collaborator with a track record of success in building and maintaining exceptional stakeholder relationships
   » Knowledge, empathy and an interest in the principles of humanitarian and development aid
   » practice in identifying and maximising funding opportunities
   » Proven business acumen and financial literacy
   » Very highly developed written and oral communication skills
   » A consultative and open style with a ?no surprises' approach
   » Politically savvy, with a strong knowledge of the machinery of government
It's a requirement of VSA that any member of staff required to travel overseas must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Therefore, all candidates must be vaccinated and able to provide a vaccine pass as evidence.
